1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454/365hp & THD400 Automatic Transmission
After a very recent frame-off restoration, this Chevelle SS is fit & finished and ready for anything from local cruise nights to show quality competitions. The restoration was intended to bring this true classic American Muscle car to its highest level of condition and appearance possible while keeping its originality in tact.
The body is pin straight and has undergone a flawless repaint in its original color of Cortez Silver. All chrome and trim is perfect. The vinyl top is NOS new. The factory T-3 headlights are still on the car. The Cowl Induction Hood is the original and pin striping is new yet original to the car. All Badges are as good as new.
The interior is all NOS new and filled with a nice array of factory options including air conditioning which is still using the original R12 system and is ICE COLD! The AM radio & 8-track player works like new. Other features include tilt wheel, power steering, power brakes with front disc, power trunk release, center console with bucket seats and the full SS gauge package with tachometer. Everything works as the factory intended including the clock.... Door panels, seats, carpet and headliner are all NOS new. The interior is as good as new. Everything has been redone.
The engine and drive train are original. During the restoration, the original 454/365 professionally rebuilt. It was bored .30 over and a mild Corvette Cam was added increasing the horsepower rating to 395hp. You would never notice the difference until you give it a push. Electronic points make starting simple each and every time and a rev limiter was added to it. The rear is the original 12bolt POSI. We believe the gears are 3:73 but we are not certain. Tires are original equipment Wide Ovals and the original wheels have been restored and put back where they belong...
