Vehicle Description
1967 Chevrolet C-10 Pickup Truck
FLEETSIDE (STANDARD SIDE) BEDS: Most trucks have standard side,
also known as fleetside beds. These truck beds have an essentially
straight exterior shape and the rear wheels of the truck are
located within the truck bed under the wheel wells on either side
of the bed.
For consignment a very nicely restored '67 Short Bed Fleetside
Chevrolet. Consigner states the truck was an original 2 owner (same
family) truck from North Carolina, when he picked it up and he took
2 years, and over 100 new parts were added during the restoration.
Sadly, health issues are not allowing him to enjoy it anymore, so
someone else can have all the enjoyment with no work, and only 600
miles put on since the restoration.
Exterior
With only 2 rocker panels and one cab corner needed to be replaced
this truck had a great start. Bathed in Silver metallic panels are
steel, and present straight with reasonable gapping. The restorer's
idea was to have an original looking truck that appears that is
just came from the showroom...in 1967, and all the right brite
work, chrome and badging is present and accounted for. Excepting
for 4 Legend Series gray steel spider weblike spoked wheels with
shiny polished trim rings, this truck accomplishes the consigners
task! A very clean and shiny oak bed is put in, and it is
surrounded by all straight metal on the bed as well.
Interior
A very nice tuck and roll gray fabric bench, which has black vinyl
bolsters, stretches from perfect door panel to perfect door panel.
Speaking of which those have tuck and roll stitched vinyl in black
panels, that is surrounded by the gray metallic of the exterior. A
gray matching sprayed metal dash has the black vinyl insert
containing the instrumentation, and it is ultra clean. A factory
radio and temp levers sit in the middle, and a matching metal
ribbed headliner hovers above. Below we see a flood of black
carpet, very tidy, and it is sporting rubber diamond plate
patterned floor mats...all very clean and new. One notes the
original crank handle emergency brake has been replaced with a new
foot pedal which looks cleaner, and functions much easier.
Drivetrain
A 1989 era Chevrolet 350ci V8 had replaced the inline 6-cylinder
the truck came with. Our consigner had this motor overhauled,
adding a 4-barrel carburetor in lieu of the fuel injection it was
born with in '89. Also, a mild cam was put in, and it was all
dressed up with new paint, hoses, and a chrome air cleaner topper,
and valve covers. The 700 R4 4-speed automatic transmission was in
excellent condition and did not need rebuilding. This truck also
has the original rear end setup and comes with an extra set of
fully restored 15x8 Rally wheels.
Undercarriage
As one would expect with a restoration of this caliper, the
undercarriage is as nice as the topside. No runs drips or errors
here, just power front disc brakes, and power rear drum brakes, and
plenty of shine.
Popular with Chevrolet truck fanatics, this year is near and dear
to many an aficionado's heart, and this one is a true find. No
stone left unturned, all pristine and ready to go to work or show,
just drive it right out of our showroom, only it's not 1967
anymore, even though the truck looks like it did driving out in
1967!
