In the drag racing world, he was probably best known for the
infamous championship winning "Tijuana Taxi" Pro Stock four-door
Maverick. Today of course, he's a leading NASCAR team owner and
Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee. Jack Roush has been intimately
tied with Ford as an engineer and racer for decades. Having his
concepts, ideas, plus his signature on any car makes it one to
have. And this beautiful example has logged just 21,000 miles. The
number 427 is also been part of the Ford performance legacy as one
of Ford's most powerful and legendary engines. With the Roush
Mustang 427R, the number stands for nothing less than the
horsepower -- about as down-to-business as you can get. The 4.6L V8
features the intercooled ROUSHcharger system that yields the magic
427 horsepower figure, as well as 391 lb/ft of very usable torque.
The impressive power comes via a Roush-engineered ECM calibration,
which has been specifically tuned to work in harmony with the Roush
exhaust system. As in some of the world's finest performance
machines, the engine builder's signature appears on a plaque in the
engine compartment. The 427R is a comprehensive performance and
appearance package. It's easy to spot with a four-piece aerobody
kit including a unique front fascia, front spoiler, hood scoop, and
rear wing, Roush 18-inch cast chrome wheels, high-performance
tires, and special 427R striping. A 2007 Mustang GT fortified by
Roush Performance makes a formidable -- and very enjoyable --
combination.
