Good looking 1968 California classic, all clean chassis, no. CC27294L. Recently repainted, power-upgraded engine, excellent runner, many recent improvements.
No welds, no rust at all, waxoyled twice by previous owner, original panels, good hood, a fair bit of fettling work and a reworked cylinder head (porting, manganese valve guides, lead-free seats, gas flow, skim to .02” for higher compression) by GJ engineering and the desirable overdrive. All work carried out in the Hastings, E Sussex area by Triumph specialists in my workshop. New bits include clutch, sports exhaust, K and N filters on Weber carbs, complete new high performance ignition system (original points), brake master cylinder, radiator with high pressure cap, Kenlow fan, adjustable suspension, tyres, paint, seat re-upholstery, seat belts, roll bar. Note the very low emissions: 1.6% CO and hydrocarbons at 170, both very low.
An attractive and eye catching car. I had this valued by Just Historic Cars of Hastings, copies of their report available in English and French. By general professional agreement, a very nice example of the marque.
