16/22 mpgA twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 mated to a seven-speed
twin-clutch automatic transmission was the only powertrain
available. In the AMG GT, the engine produced 456HP and 443 lb-ft
of torque while in the AMG GT S, it was rated at 503HP and 479
lb-ft. Fuel economy is surprisingly good for such a powerful sports
car at 16/22 mpg city/highway.According to the 'Motor Trend' buying
guide in 2016 upon the models debut it stated; "Standard features
in the 2016 AMG GT are keyless entry/start, dual-zone climate
control, a Burmester sound system, navigation, heated and
power-adjustable performance seats, Nappa leather upholstery, AMG
performance exhaust, full LED headlights, a rearview camera, silver
chrome interior trim, and front and rear parking sensors. Optional
features include a panoramic sunroof, extended Nappa leather
upholstery, silver or red seatbelts, a carbon fiber crossbar,
carbon fiber interior trim, an upgraded Burmester audio system, and
carbon-ceramic brakes. For maximum performance, consider the AMG
Dynamic Plus package, which adds dynamic engine and transmission
mounts.""What We Think (Motor Trend 2016)""In a comparison test
that also included the Nissan GTR and Porsche 911 Turbo S, the 2016
AMG GT S won because of its excellent handling, well-tuned gearbox,
strong brakes, and powerful twin-turbo V-8. The AMG GT S character
on the road gave it an edge because it wasnt all business and gave
the driver plenty of thrills and excitement behind the wheel. We
also noted in a First Test review that even though it puts out
excellent performance on the track, the AMG GT S comes into its own
on the open road and devours it happily, especially when its in
Race mode. Additionally, the cars interior is beautifully built
with quality materials all such as real metal and carbon fiber trim
bits, and high-grade leather on nearly every surface of the cabin.
More recently, we crowned the AMG GT S the 2015 Motor Trend Best
Drivers Car."Replacing the SLS AMG GT as the Mercedes Benz halo
sports car, the 2016 AMG GT was an all-new model and arguably the
purest drivers car to wear the 3-pointed star and the
top-of-the-line Mercedes-AMG GT S is as thrilling to drive as it is
to look at and you will surely look long and hard to find a finer
example of this virtually brand new desirable 2016 year model with
virtually every conceivable added factory luxury option for the
ultimate luxury sports car driving experience with a low original
10K miles and full service history including a recent full service
at the 'Mercedes-Benz' dealership of Austin, TX available anywhere
else!
