Vehicle Description
A last hurrah for the second generation Bel Air, the 1957 model
brought forth a completely new design that lasted one year only. A
classic sooner than many of its contemporaries, the '57 Chevy is an
American icon that has been sought after almost since day one.
While there's not a color that looks bad on these cars, black and
white is an absolutely killer combination.
A nice, driver quality car all the way around, it is safe to say
that this car has received a moderate restoration in the past. The
paint is good, and because it is an older paint job you wouldn't be
afraid to cruise this puppy on a regular basis! There are a lot of
nice exterior trim pieces on this car, many of which appear to be
originals. The Cragar chrome wheels are a nice touch, giving it a
1970s street machine feel. Coupled with adjustable air shocks and
traction bars in the rear, this Bel Air makes a great day two time
machine!
Much like the exterior, the interior has be refinished previously
with tuck and roll pleated vinyl seats. The black vinyl matches
with the exterior black, and we aren't sure we'd rather have any
other color interior! The pleated design also goes with the "day
two" feel of the car and an automatic ratchet shifter has been
installed in the floor. The front bench seat was slightly modified
to account for the new shifter, so it looks like it belongs!
Originally a 3-speed column shifted car, the automatic transmission
is a worthy upgrade ideal for casual cruising. A modern-style A/C
system has been installed an integrated with the interior. It blows
ice cold air, and is almost a necessity for a black on black car in
the summer! Additionally, a modern style vintage radio has been
installed for easy listening to your choice of tunes. Aftermarket
gauges ensure you always know whats going on under the hood and
power windows make it easy to feel the breeze. As a whole, the
interior is in good condition and needs nothing to be enjoyed
as-is.
Under the hood is a Chevrolet 350 V8, and while not factory
original for this car, it is a popular upgrade to give the car a
little more power as opposed to the 283 V8 that was available in
these cars when new. Mated to a TH350 automatic transmission, this
is an adequately powered classic ready for all your cruising needs.
Complete with a chrome dress up kit, aluminum radiator, and
4-barrel Edelbrock carburetor, this Bel Air is already set up the
way most would want it!
This is the perfect affordable driver-quality classic cruiser.
Anyone in the market for an affordable '57 Bel Air will find this
to be the perfect weekend vehicle, or a solid start for a
next-level build!
