Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1974 BMW E9 3.0CS coupe.
This E9 is an easy project with the "heavy lifting" already done -
it's an excellent opportunity for an enthusiast to put the
finishing touches on it and have a very nice car. Recent paint and
bodywork finished to a nice standard in correct Fjord Blue and it
has been mostly reassembled.
The engine was just rebuilt by a well-regarded race shop in North
Carolina and features a Schrick cam, triple Weber 40 DCOE carbs and
headers. The work included a polished crank, new main bearings and
rod bearings, honed (but not bored) cylinders, new rings, and a
complete valve job. Hard parts from Korman in Greensboro. Dover in
Atlanta did the machine work on the head. The block is numbers
matching and the head has a 1982 date code. It's mated to a
four-speed manual transmission. This is a running and driving car
but needs exhaust run from the headers back, a brake booster, some
electrical sorting and various trim bits installed.
The interior is mostly complete and serviceable but could use new
wood and some buttoning up. We believe that most of what is needed
to complete this car is included. It is nicely detailed underneath
and the 15-inch basketweave wheels are in good condition. This is
an A/C car and the A/C console, evaporator, controls and lines are
in place. Tens of thousands invested before the project stalled -
it is now ready for you to finish the fun part of the restoration
and put this car back on the road.
