Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1967 Land Rover Santana
Series IIa. Manufactured under license primarily for the Central
and South American markets, the early Santana (1967 and older)
matched the Land Rover specification almost exactly - so parts
interchangeability and availability is not a problem like it can be
on the later Santanas. This Series IIa has been fully restored both
cosmetically and mechanically to a very nice standard, and also has
some desirable performance upgrades such as power steering and
power brakes.
Very straight alloy body with good gaps and nice paint quality; all
seals and gaskets were replaced prior to paint. Nice glass, lenses,
trim and wheels. Soft top with windows in great condition and all
cords, hooks and grommets are functioning as they should. Steel
frame is in excellent shape with no rust and no evidence of former
rust repair, ugly welds, etc. The overall finish quality and
attention to detail are far better than what you typically see on a
Santana.
The interior presents well and has been nicely restored to its
original specification. Restored banjo steering wheel and gauges
look fantastic. All gauges, switches and lights are working as they
should. Three-point seat belts are fitted for the front seat driver
and passenger.
All major driveline components have either been replaced or
restored. The 2.25 gasoline four-cylinder engine was rebuilt; it
starts and runs well. It's mated to a four-speed manual
transmission; clutch, gearbox and transfer case are all working as
they should. This Land Rover has been upgraded with power steering
and power brakes, so it's considerably less tractor-like in its
driving dynamics. It's far easier and more enjoyable to drive
around town than one without these upgrades.
