Vehicle Description
Why This Vehicle is Special:
The 1970 Chevrolet Nova we have at Skyway Classics finally became
simply the Chevrolet Nova this year after two years of transitional
nameplates. Out of 254,242 Novas sold for 1970, 19,558 were the SS
350 or SS 396 version.
Mechanical:
The motor in our Nova is a 383 Small Block Chevy V8 stroker motor
that has been seriously modified to over 450 horse because of the
performance additions like Hedman headers, Big Mutha Comp Cam with
.540 lift, 1.635 Ratio roller rockers, Comp Cam lifters and beehive
springs, forged Eagle Crank and Rods, Mahle Forged pistons,
aluminum intake, performance Holley 750 double-pumper carb, as well
as dress-up items like Edelbrock air Cleaner, Red Chevrolet Valve
Covers, and braided hose covering, in a well detailed engine
compartment, and all flowing out a Magna dual exhaust system.
The transmission is a 4-Speed Chevrolet M22 Rockcrusher, the best
4-speed Chevrolet ever made, and it has a 4-Speed chrome Hurst
shifter with black shifter ball. The Nova also has power steering
and power brakes for upgraded handling and safety.
It rides safely on CDS Disk Brakes with 4-piston front brake
calipers, Stage Three rear Drums on the back, a performance 12-bolt
rear end, performance shocks and sway bars, Cl Tracs Traction bars,
all on BF Goodrich Radial Ta tires and chrome 5 spoke mag
wheels.
Exterior:
Our Nova has great Grey paint, SS Emblems and hood, great chrome
trim and emblems, great chrome bumpers, as well as all the correct
lights and great glass.
Interior:
The black bucket seat with rear bench seat looks as it came off the
show room floor and is complimented by the custom dash with its
array of Autometer American Muscle gauges, toggle switch ignition,
black carpet and door panels.
Conclusion:
The 1970 Chevrolet Nova we have at Skyway Classics is a great car
that not only has the look of a great period Muscle Car, but all
the engine and performance to back it up. These cars were fast and
feared when they were new, and this one will win not only trophies
at the shows, but many races too (at the track of course!)
