Vehicle Description
1965 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe 327/365hp For Sale - NCRS National
Top Flight LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1965 Chevrolet
Corvette Coupe 327/365hp Corvette development in the 1960s
proceeded at a feverish pace, driven by engineer Zora
Arkus-Duntov's commitment to keeping America's Sports Car at the
front of the pack. To that end, one of the major improvements of
the 1965 model was the introduction of disc brakes as standard
equipment. As good as the Corvette drum brakes had become,
Arkus-Duntov admitted that disc brakes had enough "sex appeal" that
GM believed it had no choice but to begin developing its own system
for 1965 release. It was a huge engineering effort that paid off
with even better braking performance and feel, and with the right
pad compound, enough built-in durability to survive the toughest
test of all: the 12 Hours of Sebring. Returning to the fold in 1965
was the 327-cubic-inch engine in its various configurations,
including the L76 solid-lifter version using heavy-duty internals,
high-flow, large-valve heads and Holley 4-barrel carburetion to
generate 365 HP at 6,200 RPM and 350 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 RPM.
This beautiful Corvette was sold at Starksen Chevrolet in
Lancaster, California on January 25th,1965 to Robert M. Hansen. It
was factory ordered in Ermine White with Saddle Interior and comes
with such options as, air conditioning, power antenna, 3.70
posi-traction, AM/FM radio, tinted glass, hubcaps and white stripe
tires. It is powered by its numbers matching L76 " "HK" 327/365hp
engine backed by a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. This
Corvette was the subject of a comprehensive nut and bolt frame-off
restoration which resulted in earning a prestigious National Top
Flight as well as a Chapter NCRS Top Flight award. After achieving
its Top Flight accolades, the owner decide he wanted to use and
enjoy the car. He upgraded from factory bias ply tires to radials,
as well, remove the original style air conditioning compressor for
an upgraded reliable compressor. It comes with warranty book,
Protect-O-Plate, owner's manual packet, NCRS Top Flight awards and
salesman's card from Starksen Chevrolet. With the combination of
the optional L76 powerhouse engine, the 4-speed close ratio
transmission, air-conditioning, complete frame off restoration and
documentation as well as a earning a National NCRS Top Flight
award, make this an extremely rare and collectable Corvette.
