Vehicle Description
This 1969 Type 2 Volkswagen Camper Bus with 33,394 miles was
recently restored over the past couple years. It has a rebuilt
engine that has been bored to a 1776 and runs strong with no smoke,
easy start and plenty of power. The transmission was rebuilt (July
2017) less than 500 miles ago, so shifting is nice and precise. The
suspension and braking are excellent. The steering box was also
rebuilt during that same time frame. In the past year the master
cylinder, plug and hose have been replaced, along with the tie
rods, ball joints and sway bars. The upper and lower break
reservoirs were replaced along with the brake light switches and
pivot shaft and bushings. The drag link and steering damper were
also replaced. A front-end alignment was done. The rear heater duct
was replaced, and new seat belts were installed. There was an added
auxiliary plug, stereo & speakers, plus a spare tire with cover and
a jack & lug. The bus is very reliable, easy and fun to drive and
should provide for a lot of trouble-free travel. The interior is in
excellent shape with new seat covers, insulation, front rubber
flooring and custom curtains. It has a sink, ice box, fold-out
tables and a new tent & cot. The exterior was repainted not too
long ago and as a driver-quality restoration presents its self
well. The trim and glass all looks good. This is a good looking
"Westy" in excellent mechanical shape and is ready for fun summer
camping. The Bus comes with a file of receipts reflecting some of
the work that was done.
