pleased to present this handsome Mercedes 450SEL 6.9, the flagship
of Mercedes premium S-Class models for 1979. Based on the
long-wheelbase W116 chassis, Mercedes-Benz engineers shoehorned
their awesome 286 HP, 6.9-liter V-8 into the engine bay. 103,380
miles. Despite a gross weight of 5,335 pounds, the 6.9 accelerates
from 060 mph in a little over seven seconds and boasts a top speed
of nearly 140 mphmind-bending performance for such a heavy vehicle
and quite incredible by 1979 standards! By the end of production,
only 1,816 of the 6.9 were sold to the United States over the
course of four years of production, making this a rare Benz indeed.
Well-maintained with no evidence of damage, it is featured in
silver, with blue leather interior. The car is in superb cosmetic
and mechanical condition, with much recent expert servicing
