Real GTO with Pontiac Historical documentation, originalmotor,
trans and rear. Solid California car. Outstanding colors and
options. It was completely restored about 10 years ago.
EXTERIOR: California car with a straight body. Look down either
side, no ripples. Believe it or not it still has the factory
quarter panels. Bottoms of doors and fenders are clean. Has
original metal door edge guards. The Fathom blue metallic is a
stunning color. It was professionally painted. The metal flake
layed out nice, the clearcoat was polished to a glass finish.
Overall the chrome and trim is an 8 out of 10, nearly new looking.
Weatherstrips and window seals were replaced. New custom 17 inch
wheels have GTO center emblems and Hankook performance tires.
INTERIOR: The upholstery was replaced and new cushions put in the
seats. Door panels and armrests were replaced. Carpets were
replaced, has embroidered floormats. The whole dash area is really
nice. Has the Rally gauges with tachometer. Nothing cut or broken.
Nice woodgrain, clear lenses, chrome sparkles. Dash pad is not
cracked. Has a rare factory Am-Fm radio but in the glovebox is a
stereo with satellite and a remote. There are kick panel speakers
and 6x9 speakers behind the rear seat. The center console has the
Hurst dual gate shifter and a Pontiac vacuum gauge. There is a tilt
column with walnut steering wheel. If you are lazy like me you will
like the power seat, locks, top, windows and trunk. The white
convertible top is excellent. It has an alarm with a remote that
also locks the doors.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The original 400 engine was completely rebuilt,
bored 30 over. It runs strong, has a nice idle. It is stock except
for upgraded HEI ignition and newer carb. Has factory air
conditioning system. Features power steering and brakes too. Has
upgraded wiper motor.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very clean original metal. You can still see
some of the original spatter paint on the 1/4s. Has jack, spare and
actually 2 mats. There is a tub filled with service manuals,
catalogs, literature. There are boxes of extra parts too including
original steering wheel, wiper motor etc.
UNDERSIDE: Appears to be very solid. Frame and floors were cleaned
and painted semi gloss black. Bottom of motor is clean, has newer
starter. Has orginal Turbo 400 trans. In back it has new gas shocks
and control arm bushings. Original YH code 3.55 posi rear end. New
dual exhaust system. Front end was checked out, some items
replaced. Has disc brake conversion in front.
Honestly, this is an awesome GTO. Again the colors and options are
off the charts. It has clean California metal and was
professionally restored 10 years ago. Some very minor freshening up
can make it look like it was restored yesterday. It is turnkey,
ready to enjoy and it will impress all onlookers the way it is!
