For Sale: 1968 Dodge Charger in South Haven, Michigan

Vehicle Description

An authentic Charger R/T with correct 440 engine and auto trans.  VIN XS29L8B239445  A non-numbers matching car.  This complete rotisserie restoration was completed in April of 2019 and received two first place awards in a West Michigan car show in May of 2019.  The restoration was completed to be authentic in appearance to every detail but with numerous modern upgrades for performance, safety and convenience.  The result is a stunning looking 68 Charger R/T with a driving experience similar to a modern car.  The restoration was fully photographed and documented.  A binder with all of the vendor literature, receipts and wiring diagrams accompany the car.  Electronic copies of the photographs and  documentation available upon request.

The body restoration includes new AMD sheet metal for 1/4 panels, passenger floor, trunk floor, hood and roof panel.  All interior and exterior surfaces were sealed and painted 68 Dodge code P1 red single stage urethane enamel.  The 440 engine was fully machined to .040" over with all new internal components, resurfaced heads, factory equivalent cam and valve seats for no-lead fuel.  The crank was polished and the engine balanced.  All of the chrome, glass and trim are new with the exception of the side glass, belt moldings and back glass.   All of the wiring harnesses have been replaced with OEM reproduction harnesses.  All of the soft interior upholstery, carpet and door panels and pads are new as supplied by Legendary interiors.  The original dash has been restored with all new OEM gauges, wiring harness, switches and ducts.  All lights, electric motors, relays and sensors have been replaced with OEM reproduction parts.  The wheels are 15x8" reproduction "Magnum" wheels by Coker tire.  The tires are BF Goodrich P225/70R15 redline radials.  

The upgrades include the following:  The 440 Engine is controlled with throttle body EFI and electronic ignition control by Edelbrock.  The original Torqueflite transmission has been replaced with an A41 Automatic 4-speed overdrive conversion by Silver Sport Transmissions.  That conversion includes a modern torque converter, wiring harness, control module and drive shaft.  The factory 8 3/4 rear end housing was retained but the drop out section, all gears, bearings axle shafts, flanges and seals are new as supplied by Moser Engineering.  The original 3.23 gear ratio was maintained.  The brake system was upgraded to 4 wheel disc brakes with a complete system by Master Power Brakes.   The fuel tank is a modern, baffled replacement with internal high pressure pump and all new lines.  The steering has been upgraded with a short ratio Borgeson steering gear box, short ratio pitman and idler arms and new steering column with tilt capability.  The torsion bars and stabilizer bar are upgraded as well as rear leaf springs.  The factory air was replaced with a complete system by Vintage Auto Air.  The radio was replaced with an authentic appearing digital system with full connectivity.  The front seat belts have modern 3 point shoulder harnesses.  

The car is easy to show and a lift is available to allow full inspection by a mechanic.  Detailed additional information and pictures can be supplied upon request.
