road and the flagship of the Shelby Mustang Line-up. Only 518 total
KR Convertibles were produced and they sell at auction for over

This Factory 1968 Ford Mustang Convertible was built as a tribute
to this amazing Shelby Model. Painstakingly finished with all
correct aesthetic parts and features, this KR Convertible often
fools even the most tried and ardent Shelby Purist.
Exterior: Finished in multi-stage Shelby Red Enamel with clear coat
and blocked and color sanded to a laser straight high gloss finish.
All exterior chrome trim have been refinished to meet or even
exceed factory standards. The attention to detail is evident from
the fit and finish of all exterior Ford Factory and Shelby body
panels and trim. Finished with Shelby wheels and correct Goodyear
tires.
Interior: Follow this into the cockpit of this beautiful
convertible. All attention was paid to duplicate a 1968 Shelby
factory GT500 KR. Correct Deluxe interior decor with Shelby console
with gauges has been installed. The Shelby signed dashboard and
dash bezels are all brand new and all interior finishes are factory
correct. Correct Shelby integrated padded roll bar was also added
to complete this tribute.
Chassis, Suspension, and Drivetrain: Upgraded 4 wheel power disc
brakes, air conditioning, and factory power steering, improve the
drive quality while maintaining originality. The old engine was
removed to make room for the Shelby GT500 KR correct and date coded
428 Cobra Jet Big Block Engine paired with an automatic C6
transmission. All suspension components have been rebuilt or
replaced and the undercarriage is detailed. Factory style exhaust
has been installed and sounds exactly as a 1968 Shelby GT500 KR
should.
