1934 Ford Model 40 Deluxe Roadster From a collection out of Arizona
and still on actual mileage title! One of only 6,180 Deluxe
Roadsters made in 1934 221 CID Flathead V-8 engine Three-speed
sliding gear manual transmission and 4.11 gearing Dearborn Blue
exterior with a brown interior and new tan folding top Rumble seat
Cream-colored wire wheels with dual side-mounted spares and a one
in the rear, all with covers Steel frame and original mechanical
brakes Custom-etched glass Fog lights, cowl lights, dual horns This
is one of the most highly sought after Fords of all time! As the
United States began to ease out of the Great Depression, Ford
returned to profitability in 1934 with its Model 40, which replaced
the Model 18. This beautiful example is a 1934 Model 40 Deluxe
Roadster, complete with rumble seat and it's in our showroom at
MotoeXotica Classic Cars. This unit is one of 6,180 Deluxe
Roadsters made in 1934. It has been in the arid state of Arizona
for numerous years in a private collection and is being sold on a
actual mileage Arizona title! The Dearborn Blue paint and trim,
including the new tan folding top, are in very good order. This
example has fog lights, cowl lights, dual horns and not one but
three spare wheels and tires - two side-mounted on the fenders and
the third behind the rumble seat complete with suicide doors. The
car's bodywork is straight and solid, the engine bay is very tidy
and the Ultima 6V battery appears to be in great condition but the
original flying greyhound hood ornament has a broken leg. The car's
chrome bumpers are in brilliant order. This Deuce Roadster rolls on
Firestone Deluxe Champion Gum-Dipped wide whitewall tires, size
5.25-5.50-17 at all four corners. Each tire is wrapped around
factory, cream-colored wire wheels. The wheels and tires are all in
good, original order. Under the vee'd hood is Ford's 221 CID
Flathead V-8 engine with a Stromberg carburetor. Backing it is a
three-speed sliding gear transmission and 4.11:1 gearing. Inside,
the car's upholstered bench seat is in excellent order, as is the
rumble seat while the carpet is in very good shape. The three-spoke
steering wheel looks good, the blue metal instrument panel is in
very good order but the turn signals are inoperable, while the
inner door panels are in nearly flawless condition. It comes with a
factory optional radio (inoperable) and even the rear view mirror
has a wind up clock. The 1934 Ford (the Model 40B) was not as
substantial a model year change as the previous two years had been.
Noticeable changes included a flatter grille with a wider surround
and fewer bars, straight hood louvers, two handles on each side of
the hood, smaller head lights and cowl lamps, and a reworked logo.
The bare metal dash insert was replaced by painted steel. V-8
output was again increased, this time to 85 horsepower and the
four-cylinder Model B engine was in its last year, as was the
Victoria body style; nevertheless, there were 14 body options, the
Tudor being top-seller. The standard three window coupe was
deleted. Deluxes had pinstriping, again twin (chromed) horns, cowl
lights and twin taillights. Inside, they got more elaborate wood
graining. As Ford moved past its Model A era, the succeeding models
are every bit as beautiful and have more powerful engines with
twice as many cylinders. If you're a classic Ford collector,
someone who appreciates pre-World War II automobiles or who would
enjoy something different in their collection, you owe it to
yourself to stop at MotoeXotica Classic Cars and review this Model
40 Roadster. VIN: 1214741 This car is currently located at our
facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer
shows 17,532 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and
clear, actual mileage Arizona title but we have no documentation to
back up the mileage however. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! Note: Please see
