For Sale: 1969 Cadillac Convertible in Manchester, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

1969 Cadillac deVille Convertible

This car is a one family car. The original owner purchased it brand new in Delray Beach, FL from Hoyle Cadillac. Known in the family as the uncle who always had a new car, three years later, he sold it to his brother, who, in turn sold it to his son (the current owner) in 1989. he drove the car through high school and after, through a marriage and a divorce. The last 15+ years as just a sunny day cruiser. Unfortunately, over the last several years, the car has hardly been driven at all and with several changes happening, he has decided it's time to move her on to a new home.

In the early 90's the 472 engine was pulled and completely rebuilt, including new crank and cam, rods, etc. It was built to stock spec which is roughly 375 HP. It has a new true dual exhaust running straight back, has a great rumble and is nicely tucked up into the frame. The engine starts and runs strong and has approximately 15,000-20,000 miles. It currently does not have the vacuum choke so she needs a little time to warm up before stomping on the throttle. The car it self is believed to have 139K miles.

In the same time that the engine was pulled and rebuilt, some metal work was done on the front , lower fenders and the car was repainted from the trim line down, in the original Colonial Yellow.

The interior is the optional black ostrich leather and has power bench seat, power steering, power brakes (discs in front, drums out back), power top, intermittent wipers, rim blow horn, Air Conditioning, the original AM radio (there is an aftermarket stereo installed) and the original floor mats.

Overall the car is very solid with the only known area of rot on the left rear body mount, there is some minor bubbling on the rear lower quarter panels. The AC compressor is seized however, there is another unit included. The brake booster is leaking and another one will either be installed or go with the car when sold. The switch for the convertible top simply wore out and a new switch is included but is not installed. The convertible top has been tucked into the boot for nearly ten years and when recently raised was found to have crease/tears. If kept out side, they'll drip in a heavy rain, when driving will easily keep the interior dry. It will be best to keep this car garaged until a new top is sourced.

A true ten footer, the Colonial Yellow and the dual exhaust rumble will instantly garner attention when cruising down the boulevard. Up close, she will not take any trophies due to multiple nicks, scratches and blemishes in the paint and some wear on the leather interior; however she is a great basis for a restoration and once done, will have some good value. Or... She can be simply enjoyed as is, making the few small repairs and cared for from here on out.

Asking price on this car is $6200
