Vehicle Description
Wearing a magnetic color you just can't turn away from and carrying
tons of rumbling big block power under its hood, this 1967
Chevrolet Chevelle SS Tribute is an outstanding example of the
model in its heralded first generation form. The drivetrain on this
vintage Chevy is in outstanding condition to provide a
pulse-pounding experience behind the wheel would be pretty hard to
beat.
Aptly outfitted in a high impact shade of orange, this Chevy is
sure to attract attention wherever it roams. With its exterior kept
in factory configuration, it gives off an understated, sleeper vibe
with the vibrant paint adding just the right touch of customization
to show that plenty of deserved attention has been lavished upon it
- a comprehensive detailing session will take things to an even
higher aesthetic level. The body panel alignment here looks very
strong, with nice, even gaps surrounding the doors, hood and deck
lid - all of which open and shut smoothly. Both the front and back
bumpers appear to have been recently replaced and while the front
grille is likely original, it's in pretty solid shape. An
assortment of properly placed emblems provides a respectful nod to
this muscle car's Super Sport inspiration.
Climb inside and you'll be surrounded by a vintage driving
environment that's been the recipient of a recent refurbishment, so
it's really looking sharp. It retains its factory configuration for
the most part, with some well-placed aftermarket touches added to
amp things up a bit. The black vinyl buckets haven't likely seen
much use, judging from their wrinkle-free, well-fitted covers, and
they straddle a clean center console, with the manual shifter
wielding this muscle car's considerable power sitting within easy
reach. The generously proportioned factory steering wheel still
sits on the column, and if you peer through it you'll see that the
dash area just beyond it is in great shape, with a fresh pad
running the width of the cabin and a really clear instrument panel
that's augmented with a trio of aftermarket SunPro gauges just
below to monitor vital motoring functions. The trunk area is very
solid - with no fabric lining its floor, you can see just how clean
and well prepped everything under the deck lid is.
The expansive 454 cubic inch V8 rumbling away under the hood is
running at the top of its game, owing to a recent rebuild at the
hands of a skilled professional. The big block is armed with an
Edelbrock performance intake, as well as a double pumper 4-barrel
carb and churns out power in abundance, sending a nice, rich note
out of its dual exhaust and teaming with a 4-speed manual
transmission with seamless clutch engagement for an outstanding
driving experience. The engine sits in a nicely detailed
compartment, bracketed by cleanly painted black inner fenders and
wears an assortment of polished accessories and braided hoses for
added eye candy. In an era when rear leaf springs were pretty much
the norm for muscle cars, this Chevelle rolled off the assembly
line with coil springs in back for a quieter ride, with no binding
around corners. Its smooth power steering makes navigation a
breeze, while power brakes that feature discs up front provide
ample stopping ability. A set of 15" aftermarket wheels wrapped
with BF Goodrich tires finish off the look of this classic in
style.
With its high impact exterior poised to turn heads and a
well-configured drivetrain churning out massive power, this 1967
Chevrolet Chevelle SS Tribute has to be seen to be appreciated.
