Vehicle Description
International has been building work vehicles since the turn of the
century. And although they are not building consumer style vehicles
any more the legend lives on and the 4-wheel drives are considered
to be some of the most collectable of all early off-road SUV's. The
Scout II's were built from 1971 through 1980 and were only offered
with a few different engine variants and special editions. They
still competed with the Jeep but now in competition were the full
size Blazers by GM and the Bronco by Ford. This particular Scout II
that is finished in Yellow over black is believed to be a real 36K
mile truck as it was pulled out of a 30 year storage last year. It
had some typical rust that was fixed but everything was there and
in good shape including the hard top which is one of the nicest
originals I have seen, it is fitted with some noise deadening
insulation that makes for a much more enjoyable ride. The original
engine and transmission all operate perfectly. It starts and goes
down the road as it should. The paint has a driver quality finish
with the interior showing very nicely.
