Vehicle Description
There's something special about the 1936 Ford 3-Window coupe. The
styling combines the traditional upright grille with a streamlined
body to create one of the best-looking cars of the period. This one
remains faithful to the original idea right down to the rumble
seat. But then it also goes for all the best upgrades with custom
paint details, a powerful V8, upgraded suspension, and a custom A/C
interior.
Let's start with the body. It's a 2-inch chopped profile that
really gives this steel-bodied coupe a much sleeker look. In fact,
this looks like ocean waves with the curve in the roofline and the
crisp body crease that starts at the hoods and runs the full-length
until it curves under the rear tire. Then again, you might be
thinking more about fire than water when looking at this coupe. The
Marron paint has a candy-coated metallic that radiates red hot, and
there are even ghost flames on the hood. And this one has a ton
more great custom details, like the bright waterfall grille, plenty
of pinstriping, and genuine Kelsey Hayes wire wheels. So you know
this is a custom build where someone was looking for total
quality.
The interior continues this cool custom attitude. It starts with a
full custom tan leather seat. It has a fold-down armrest for
individual comfort. Plus, we love the tweed insert with maroon
piping to not only give this a classic touch, but to also
coordinate with the exterior styling. The same goes for the custom
door panels to give the build a thoughtful feeling inside and out.
You have plenty of luxury features in this updated classic,
including power windows, an AM/FM/cassette stereo mounted in the
headliner, and R134a air conditioning. Plus, you get a cool
banjo-style wood and chrome steering wheel on a tilt column. And
beyond that are a full set of Classics Instruments gauges. But the
place you're going to like the best is outside the cabin. After
all, an iconic rumble seat is great for everything from impressing
the grandkids, to driving parade routes.
You might have noticed the Chevy-style racing flags on the grille.
It's a subtle nod to the upgrade in power you'll see under the
hood. This is a small block 327 ci V8. It has a terrific look with
upgraded polished components and even an air topper with the
details painted to match the exterior and glossy firewall. More
than just a looker, it has performance upgrades like a Holley 650
four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock performer aluminum intake, and
shorty headers that feed a sweet-sounding glasspack dual exhaust.
This was built to enjoy, so it has been upgraded with a Mustang
II-style independent front end, multi-link rear with adjustable
coilovers, a three-speed automatic transmission, and front disc
brakes.
It's time to get your hands on a cool and custom rumble seat coupe.
