Vehicle Description
After WW2, Willys-Overland found itself in a unique position as one
of the few producers of 4WD vehicles, unfortunately, few people
wanted a tough utility vehicle, so plans were made to make a
larger, open top pseudo SUV. The new model was called the Jeepster
and it featured unique styling and high featured content, but was a
killed in the sales race by competitors. Just 2,960 examples were
sold in 1949.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this lovely bright yellow
Jeepster for your consideration. This Jeepster has been enjoyed by
its current owner since 2013 and has been well cared for. It
appears to have an older restoration that is showing a bit of
patina but is still in excellent shape. The paint is very nice
overall and the chrome trim is great. The car sits on red painted
steel wheels with great whitewall tires. It has a rear mounted
spare tire and a chrome bumper guard, a full cloth top with side
curtains is very nice as well. The interior features nice red
leather seats, a modern stereo unit, and nice gauges.
One unique feature that sets this Jeepster apart is the automatic
transmission and 6 cylinder engine that was installed. The little
Jeepster is an excellent driver and cruises very well.
