average Mustang. Introduced by Ford as the answer to the Z/28 the
Boss was an immediate contender in the muscle car wars of the late
1960s' and the Trans-Am series it was built to compete in. Built
with unshakable performance the Boss drives simply like no other
street car wearing the Ford emblems. With its shaker-equipped
matte-black hood, front and rear spoilers and Boss 302 striping the
Mustang is all-business. The engine in the Mustang is the
race-proven 302 that Ford used to compete and win races in the
Trans-Am Series...with a rated output of 290 horsepower the Boss
Mustang quickly established itself as a force to be reckoned with.
Production in 1970 reached 7,013 units and this Grabber Blue (1 of
861) example is extremely unique with the option content as
delivered from Ford factory. The original options on the Mustang
include traction-lok differential, quick ratio power steering, rear
deck spoiler and decor group. Additional features on the Boss
include the optional shaker hood scoop, power front disc brakes and
rear glass sport slats making this one very well equipped 1970 Boss
302 Mustang. The recipient of a very recent comprehensive frame-off
restoration this Boss 302 is in impeccable condition with no detail
overlooked. Every feature of the muscle car has been either rebuilt
or refinished resulting in one of the nicest Boss 302s' in
existence and a recent Antique Automobile Club of America National
First Prize Winner. This factory-born Grabber Blue version over
black vinyl interior was manufactured on June 23, 1970 and sold new
in Mattydale, NY to a very happy new owner. Documented with a Marti
Report and Ford Shipping Invoice and in immaculate restored
condition, this Boss 302 Mustang is ready for the car show,
cruise-in or even back on its original playground...the race track!
