2004 Ford Lightning Pickup
Special Vehicle Team, also known as SVT, is an arm of Ford Motor
Company responsible for the development of the company's
highest-performance vehicles. SVT is the successor to the SVO
division. The group mainly produces specially tuned versions of
Ford production vehicles such as the 2004 F-150 SVT Lightning which
is based on the Ford F150. However, they do occasionally develop
models independently of the rest of the company, namely the GT
supercar.
2004 marked the final year of Ford's 10th generation F-150, and the
end of production for high performance Lightning variants modified
by the renowned SVT team. For consignment a truly all original
truck, in its SVT trim.
Exterior
A flare side bed, 18" American alloy wheels, and a body that is in
original black, now we're talkin'! Seen are a few minor nicks and
chips, but overall very nicely presenting as it races up to you.
Noted is the suspension and stance has been lowered 2" to add just
a bit of menacing to the truck, but it's very subtle. A hard cover
comes with this truck and secures the bed if needed, or just keeps
things dry on the cargo end.
Interior
All very presentable with two racing style buckets in gray suede
with leather inserts which are embroidered with SVT. A large fold
down console is between the buckets and is in matching suede. The
original dash save for a new radio has been installed, but it has
an overall car like feel. Even the height is total car like. Carpet
is clean, and headliner is blemish free. Door panels are free of
any major defects and show power window switches as well as power
locks. Consigner states a K and N Cold Air System has been
installed, and air does blow cold.
Drivetrain
The stout supercharged 5.4 Liter V8 which produces 380hp can not
only haul, it will haul ass! Attached is the beefed-up transmission
found on the F-350. The engine just received a fresh tuneup.
Undercarriage
Very clean and pristine, with Trick Flow Exhaust, new coil packs,
and Bilstein shocks are noted. Also 12.1" front, and 13.1" rear
vented rotor brakes with two piston calipers can be seen on all 4
corners.
This all original is a standout for appearance and performance. A
great way to get around, and you can move very quickly between
garage sale to garage sale, so you will be one up on the neighbors
when it comes time to do some hauling. And it's a head turner to
boot!
