The 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door post car equipped with the
optional V8 and automatic transmission. The added chrome of the Bel
Air trim represented the top-of-the-line model for that year
(compared to the lesser 210 and 150 trim options). Under the hood
is a 265-cubic-inch overhead valve motor which was the beginning of
Chevrolet's iconic "small block" V8. By 1955 Chevrolet had fully
adopted the "shoe box" body, as evident by the departure from the
rounded, bubble look of 1954 to a sleeker, straighter design. A
wrap-around glass windshield and triangular tail lights were also
added, giving the car a futuristic look that helped drive its
market success. Grouped together with 1956 and 1957 models as a
"tri-five" Chevy, this 1955 is a desirable vehicle for collectors,
especially in its two door Bel Air guise. Call us today at (630)
