Vehicle Description
It's a bright red 409 4-speed. This 1961 Chevrolet Impala also
sports the desirable Bubble Top body style. 1961 was the first year
for the famous 409 engine, and it was a 409 4-speed that the Beach
Boys sang about in their classic hit song. This beautiful Impala is
indeed the stuff of legend. It was professionally restored to
show-quality standards inside and out -- even the trunk. The super
clean engine bay is a great showcase for the legendary big block.
And the engine shines with a chrome open element air cleaner and
silver "W" valve covers. The interior is a study in style and good
taste. The red and white upholstery blends with the red carpeting;
while beautiful bright work on the seats, dash and door sills
provide a pleasing contrast. A really neat detail is the steering
wheel. It has the thick, comfortable rim of a modern helm, but is
styled so well that it looks like it was born there. Another modern
touch is the cupholders in the center armrest. As you know, a '60's
car usually had ash trays rather than cupholders. The red and white
theme is taken as far as the trunk, with a neat spare tire cover
and the bow tie logo embroidered into the front panel. This is a
custom with great modern upgrades, including Wilwood power disc
brakes, that respects the classic style and heritage of the 1961
Bubble Top Impala.
