Vehicle Description
Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1976 BMW 2002. This '02 is
a proper hotrod that was built with the best components available
and finished to a high standard cosmetically. Originally sold by
Garner Motors in Amarillo, Texas before eventually making its way
to North and South Carolina, it was restored and upgraded between
2008 and 2011.
The build included a Metric Mechanic "2400 Rally" engine, 5-speed
conversion (Metric Mechanic Getrag 245 Ultimate), 3.91 limited
slip, Weber 45DCOE side drafts, Korman intake, pulse chamber
headers, 2002 Turbo exhaust, electric fuel pump, racing radiator,
strut braces, H&R springs, Eibach shocks, real Minilite wheels
wearing Toyo RA-1 tires, K-mac camber/caster kit and more.
Additionally it's fitted with a Nardi steering wheel, Italian turn
signals, backdated and rechromed rear bumper and a front air dam.
The interior was refreshed and a newer stereo and coco mats were
fitted. The paint and body are excellent with nice trim; the
underside is in good original condition with no signs of rust
issues. Included invoices for the mechanical parts portion of the
build alone (not including labor or cosmetics) total over $33,000.
This 2002 runs and drives as good as it looks and is ready for
touring events or shows - and although it's probably too nice for
it, it would be a blast on track. The original window sticker,
owners books, detailed build receipts, spare and jack, and Metric
Mechanic engine build specs are included.
