Vehicle Description
Immaculately maintained and rarely driven, this final-year Trans Am
wraps a top option LS1/6-speed drivetrain in a sizzling
red-on-black color combination. And, as 1 of 26 2002 Bright Red
convertible Trans Ams upgraded to Firehawk status with a 6-speed
gearbox, it's as quick as it is unique. Want some modern,
top-of-the-line muscle that mixes everyday affordability with
show-stopping appeal? This sweet Firebird is the nouveaux classic
you've been dreaming of!
Clean, crisp and primed for appreciation, this imposing Trans Am is
a garage-kept cruiser that's been in the possession of one loving
family since it rolled out of the showroom. In fact, that family
owned the showroom, and the only time the car has ever changed
hands was in 2012 when it went from father to son. As expected,
this drop-top is 100% straight, with no history of accidents or
damage of any kind. High quality paint and bodywork from Troy,
Michigan's SLP Engineering blends perfectly with tight and glossy
panels from GM's St. Therese, Quebec assembly plant. And the car's
design plays especially well with Firehawk-specific elements that
include aggressive badging and a fully-functional hood.
Cosmetic appeal aside, this Trans Am is, first and foremost, a high
performance street machine. Utilizing aluminum heads, flat-top
pistons and SLP's High Flow Induction System, the car's athletic
LS1 twists an easy 345 horsepower into 350 lb./ft. of Kansas-flat
torque. Naturally, a vast majority of Firehawks were equipped with
engaging 6-speeds, and this convertible is no exception. Behind
that gearbox, a 10-bolt axle spins a Torsen limited-slip
differential around factory 3.42 gears. That power flows through
SLP's optional Bilstein Ultra Performance Suspension System. Turns
come courtesy of power rack-and-pinion steering. Braking is
provided by four power-assisted discs, which have been upfitted
with standard anti-lock technology. Spent gases flow through SLP's
Performance Stainless Steel Exhaust System. And at the corners of
the car, SLP's optional chrome wheels twist monochromatic Firehawk
insignias inside 275/40ZR17 Michelin Pilot Sports.
Inside the car, fresh bucket seats adjust electronically and fit
like a glove, while a leather-clad steering wheel sports convenient
thumb controls for an awesome Monsoon sound system. The instrument
panel is a requisite red Pontiac layout that positions a small
Driver Information Center next to a large tachometer and sweeping
speedometer. Between the seats, an optional Hurst shifter rides in
a Firehawk-branded console. And naturally, all the luxuries you'd
expect in a modern car are present and accounted for, including
power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, air conditioning,
Cruise Control and Remote Keyless Entry that's complete with GM's
PASSkey II theft deterrent system.
Looking back on the long history of the F-Body, there's little
doubt that this impressive Trans Am is one of the fastest,
best-handling and most enjoyable sports cars of all time. It
exhibits the best of everything from one of the last authentic pony
cars, and it's the perfect fit for any serious collector who loves
low-mileage muscle. Call, click or visit https://www.RKMotors.com
