Vehicle Description
A 1947 International is already a rare sight on the scene. But what
makes this a stand out even further from the rest is the full rat
rod treatment that puts this V8-powered classic at the crossroads
of vintage and outrageous.
There are just cool details on this pickup wherever you look. The
front bumper was notched and brought in so that the deep dive of
the front grille could really be a centerpiece. And the hood was
removed so that everyone can get an excellent view of the monster
motor (more on that in a moment.) That cab had 2.5 inches chopped
out of the top for a low-slung profile. And this is heightened
further by the lowered suspension and large 20-inch alloys (the
only modern part of the exterior.) This is finished in a terrific
patina that proudly keeps on display all the hard work that went
into this custom. Plus, there are great details, like the custom
door handles and the Caterpillar connecting rods used to house the
taillights. And speaking of the rear. Knowledgeable enthusiasts
realize that this has the special Knox bed that were on some IH
trucks of the era. So you'll see all kinds of vintage truck lovers
pointing out the distinct ribbed pattern.
Inside is more of the true rat rod style and creativity. The center
console is connecting rods from a Kenworth motor; the gas pedal is
a conveyor belt chain; and brake pedal is a timing gear. And the
8-track radio on display is pure fun. There's truly an interesting
shift handle build from multiple pieces, including spray gun. But
dig a little deeper, and you also see this is more than just
artistry. It's a true driver with bucket seats, a sports steering
wheel on an Ididt tilt column, and a B&M shift linkage. There's
even a full set of auxiliary gauges, including a tach, so you know
what's going on with that cool motor directly in front of you.
While the exterior has plenty of patina, the large Mr. Gasket air
grabber signals that this motor is clean, bright, and mean. This
350 cubic-inch V8 has been bored .30 over, and it has all the right
pieces, including double-hump heads, roller rockers, 202 valves,
Mallory distributor, MSD coil, and an aluminum radiator w/electric
fan to keep it running cool (there's a whiskey bottle overflow to
give this upgrade some rat rod character.) The V8 inhales deeply
with dual Holley four-barrel carburetors. This sends plenty of
growl to the quad exhaust pipes that exit on both sides behind the
doors. As you look underneath this classic, you're going to spot a
more modern undercarriage that includes a three-speed automatic
transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes.
This is a secretly rewarding patina machine. The sale even comes
with title documentation and restoration photos to prove the full
undertaking. So when you can find a cool custom like this offered
for such an obtainable price, you know you need to hurry on this
deal. Call today!!!
