Vehicle Description

1972 FERRARI 365 GTC/4

The 365 GTC/4 has been called “the civilized brother to the Daytona” due to its power steering, more civilized road manners around town and probably the best air condition system of the vintage Ferraris. Produced for only two years, only 505 examples were manufactured for the world markets. This is comparison to 1,284 Daytona Coupes manufactured make it quick a rare Ferrari V12.

This 365 GTC/4 was imported new into France in July 1972 through the official importer Charles Pozzi SA of Levallois-Perret and sold to its first owner in France in August 1972. The 365 remained in France until 1984 where it was listed for sale by official Ferrari dealer Sportgarage Bruno Wyss of Zofingen, Switzerland and then sold to a local client in Thurhau, Switzerland. Remaining in excellent condition, the 365 stayed in Switzerland and was sold in 1997 to Rolf Aeschlimann of Meilen, Switzerland. During Mr. Aeschlimann’s ownership, the 365 was kept in extraordinarily maintained condition, showing just over 50,000 original Kilometers. Mr. Aeschlimann commissioned the original Pelle Bianco (white) leather interior be re-trimmed in Pella Beige.

In 2005, Lukas Hüni of Zürich acquired the car and sold it to Dr. Friedrich von Bohlen und Halbach of Heidelberg, Germany. Immediately upon purchase, Dr. von Bohlen commissioned Hüni for a comprehensive refurbishment of the 365 including a repaint in its original color of Blu Dino Metallizzato and refurbishment or replacement of any worn parts. The total work performed between December 2005 and June 2006 amounted to over 70,000 CHF. Having been returned to perfection, the 365 GTC/4 joined Dr. von Bohlen und Halbach’s immense Ferrari collection and was used only sparingly thereafter.

In 2008, this 365 completed the Ferrari Classiche Certification process and was sold to a new owner in Germany. Then in 2009, the 365 was sold once more to its most recent collector owner in the United States. Most recently, this 365 has been thoroughly enjoyed and maintained regardless use.

This GTC/4 will offer its new owner enjoyment with no surprises. The gearbox and clutch are excellent, the body gaps are excellent, the structure is excellent with no rust and this GTC/4 has never sustained any accident damage. Upon recent road test, this 365 GTC/4 behaved as one would expect of an excellent example of the model.

One of the best driving and most usable of the 1970’s vintage Ferrari models, not to mention probably if not certainly, one of the best sounding V12 Ferrari’s of all time, this GTC/4 is complete books, Red Classiche Book, service records and original sales brochure.
