The Chevrolet Suburban is the longest continuous use automobile
nameplate in production, starting in 1935 for the 1935 U.S. model
year, and has traditionally been one of General Motors' most
profitable vehicles. The 1935 first generation Carryall Suburban
was one of the first production all-metal bodied station
wagons.
A 2018 iSeeCars.com study identified the Chevrolet Suburban as the
car that is driven the most each year. A 2019 iSeeCars.com study
named the Chevrolet Suburban the second-ranked longest-lasting
vehicle.
In 2015, the Suburban commemorated its 80th anniversary at General
Motors Arlington Assembly Plant where the 10 millionth Suburban was
produced. A video was posted on Chevrolet's YouTube channel about
its eighty-year legacy.
