Introduced in 2007, the famous GT2 name was reincarnated for the
997 generation of Porsche's 911. Boasting an incredible 523
horsepower and 505lb/ft of torque, the insatiable appetites for
horsepower from Porsche's fans were thoroughly fed via the car's
twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat six engine. With all of that power
sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission, the GT2
was the perfect unbridled trio: powerful, lightweight and analog.
With only around 194 examples sold in the U.S., it is one of the
rarest and most lusted-for 997 generation 911s ever created.
This stunning Atlas Grey Metallic Porsche 911 GT2 was built in
April of 2008. With an original MSRP of $205,525, the car was well
optioned from the Porsche factory. Among the options were the
stunning Atlas Grey Metallic paint finish, Dark Grey Natural
Leather, Heated seats, a three spoke multi-function steering wheel,
Bose surround sound system, and adaptive sports seats. The complete
list of options is listed at the bottom of this page. The car was
first purchased from Carlsen Porsche in Redwood City, California on
June 19th, 2008. Stored inside and driven sparingly, the car was
protected from the elements in all regards which explains why the
finishes and materials present as new on the car.
With 1,376 miles on the odometer in December of 2016, a major and
comprehensive service was performed by Carlsen Porsche. This
included new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, an oil change, new
spark plugs, a brake fluid flush, new belts, along with a host of
other items that were serviced. In January of 2017 the car was sold
to Carlsen Porsche, who sold the vehicle to the second owner in May
of 2017. This owner also kept the car in California, driving the
car only 72 miles since purchasing it 2 years ago. Needing to make
room in his collection, he spoke to Canepa about selling his GT2.
With such low mileage, an exceptional color specification and a
rare production 911, the GT2 was a perfect fit for Canepa.
Upon arrival at Canepa, the GT2 was inspected from front to back
thoroughly. With only 1,472 miles on the car, it was unsurprising
that it presented in as-new condition. Needing only a light
cleaning and a small amount of foam-pad polishing to the stunning
Atlas Grey Metallic paint finish, the car is in amazing condition.
Quite possibly the closest way to experience buying a new 2008
Porsche 911 GT2 today, this is the best example of Porsche's
"widow-maker" 911 that Canepa has ever seen.
