The Porsche 911 GT2 RS name laid dormant in Stuttgart for almost 10 years, last used in 2009 with the 997. Then in 2017, the 991 GT2 RS was announced. With a stupendous 700 horsepower from its 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged engine, this dual-clutch, rear-wheel drive "widow maker" was an instant sensation. Adding on top of its already resounding positive press, it set a production car lap record at the Nrburgring with a 6:47 minute lap time, cementing this car as the "baddest" street-legal cars in the world, bar none.

This 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS is a special example of the car, from both its build sheet and special motorsports-inspired story. Heavily optioned from the Porsche factory, this black over black leather and alcantara supercar was fitted with the Weissach package, an $18,000 option. With lightweight magnesium wheels, a carbon fiber hood and roof, and numerous other parts for lighter weight and aerodynamic modifications, they transform the already potent car into the best that it can be. Other options included the front axle lift system, Porsche's light design package, BOSE surround sound, Carbon Fiber floor mats with leather edging, dashboard trim in leather, automatically dimming mirrors, Chrono package, and a host of other cosmetic upgrades for the interior. With a total sticker price of $342,620, this was no base model that was ordered by skimming options but was intended to be exactly to the owner's wishes.

The owner, a noted motorsports team owner and racing driver who races a Porsche 911 GT3R, picked up the car via European delivery in Zuffenhausen. Scheduled to race at the 24 Hours of LeMans, he picked up the car from Porsche and used it on the best of Europe's roads while going through Germany and France. He visited RUF, a company with Porsche history rooted in its origins, where he met up with Hans Peter Leib, father of WEC-champion Mark Leib and together they drove the car around Pfaffenhausen. He drove to Switzerland, then to Dijon to watch the vintage historic races, finally ending up at LeMans. He raced at the 2018 24 Hours of LeMans, finshing 4th in class and only 5 minutes behind the class leader. Instead of driving the GT2 RS back to Germany, he entrusted the car to Porsche-magazine 000 editor Pete Stout. Stout, a Porsche enthusiast to the core, took the opportunity and drove the car back to Porsche where he then dropped it off to be shipped back to the U.S.

Once the car arrived in the U.S., the owner decided that the car was going to be cosmetically prepared to perfection, ensuring that the car could not look any better after he was done with it. An extensive level of concours-level paint detailing was done to the factory black paint finish, ensuring that once the SunTek clear bra film was applied it would remain undetected. Once the entire car's wrap was completed, the clear bra was sealed with ceramic coating that produced a gloss and luster so unbelievable that you can stare at the paint for hours. Needing nothing cosmetically and perfect in every detail, the owner was finally satisfied that he had done what he needed to do for the car.

Always the Porsche enthusiast, the owner recently took this GT2 RS to Porsche's Rennsport Reunion 6 in 2018, enjoying the Monterey bay area while journeying to Porsche's largest event on the planet. With his enjoyment with the car completed, he decided to sell this perfect example to the next lucky owner. With a motorsports-inspired backstory, countless hours spent on improving the original paint (a retail cost of $15,000 to $20,000) so that the car can be used without worry, this highly-optioned 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS is a perfect example.
