The car was the featured cover car of theGTO Association of America "The Legend" magazine July of 1995 quoting the owner statement about his car "The red '67 hardtop on this month's cover belongs to none other than Frank Guinto. It took Frank many phone calls and lots of looking to locate just the right car to replace his GTO from long ago." Frank owned this GTO for 30 years and he was a GTO enthusiast who kept this GTO as nice as possible and did a full restoration in 2009. A large stack of extensive receipts from Frank's 30 years of ownership is included with the sale. The black carpet and white headliner offer even greater contrast especially with the correct parchment factory floor mats. The three-spoke steering wheel with its wooden rim, is in great, original shape. The inner door panels and dashboard, with its walnut grain insert for a touch of warmth, are all in very good order. Between the bucket seats is a console mounted Hurst shifter and a small grab bar is available to the front seat passenger. Rounding out this interior is a factory AM-FM stereo with a factory rear speaker and defroster in the rear package shelf. The dash also features the powerantennacontrol, rear speaker control and the rear defroster control. The GTO underwent a few styling changes in 1967. The louver-covered taillights were replaced with eight tail lights, four on each side. Rally II wheels with colored lug nuts were also available in 1967. The GTO emblems located on the rear part of the fenders were moved to the chrome rocker panels. The grill was changed from a purely split grill, to one that shared some chrome. The GTO also saw several mechanical changes in 1967. The Tri-Power carburetion system was replaced with a single four-barrel Rochester Quadrajet carburetor. The 389 CID engine received a larger cylinder bore for a total displacement of 400 CID, which was available in three models: economy, standard and high output as this particular GTO is optioned with. The 1967 model year required new safety equipment. A new energy-absorbing steering column was accompanied by an energy-absorbing steering wheel, padded instrument panel, non-protruding control knobs, and four-way emergency flashers. A shoulder belt option was also featured, and the brake master cylinder was now a dual reservoir unit with a backup hydraulic circuit. Front disc brakes were also an option in 1967.
