It's an all-new action look, from the wheels up. Doctor Oldsmobile
scores again! That's what Oldsmobile said in their ads for the 1970
Cutlass Rallye 350, a one-year-only package loaded with special
features. Only 3547 Rallye 350s were built. This example is what
collectors and enthusiasts dream of, a rare car in pristine,
award-winning condition. It's a complete, numbers matching car that
has had a meticulously detailed, reference-grade frame-off
restoration. The original L74 350ci Rocket V8 looks and runs as
new. The engine bay is immaculate with the gold engine block and
the correct chrome. The engine is equipped with the original "6"
heads and Quadrajet carb. The original Ram-Air system takes in air
from the big functional hood scoops. The open face alternator and
distributor are also original parts. The original Turbo 350
automatic sends the power through the original driveshaft to the
"SF" 12 bolt posi with 3.42 gears. The Rallye 350 package takes the
muscle look to the max with its Sebring Yellow paint and black and
red striping. The bumpers were body color with a special urethane
coating for durability. The famous Olds Super Stock wheels were
also finished in the body color. This one sports the optional rear
spoiler for an "ultimate Olds" look. It's the same wing seen on
442s and the legendary Hurst/Olds. All Rallye 350s had the heavy
duty FE2 handling suspension package with front and rear stabilizer
bars plus a positraction rear axle. Although not part of the W45
Rallye 350 package, Olds required certain options to be included.
This was a good thing because they included some other great stuff
like the fiberglass dual air-intake hood, custom sport steering
wheel, styled sport outside mirrors, and dual exhaust. And the dual
exhaust feature brought those specially notched rear bumpers and
flared outlets that look so great on Olds muscle cars. The interior
features woodgrain accents and black vinyl bucket seats with a
beautifully ornate pattern for an upscale look. Between the seats
is the fabled Hurst Dual/Gate shifter. The undercarriage is
finished to the same high standards as the exterior. But it's more
than just cosmetic, as the springs, shocks, ball joints, sway bar
links, and tie rods are all new to ensure a like-new ride. The body
is the Cutlass Sports Coupe, a pillared bodied car known for its
extra strength and rigidity - traits favored by performance
enthusiasts. This car has been meticulously cared for since the
restoration, and it even includes a new set of white letter T/A
radials. The original owner's manual is included, plus numerous and
detailed restoration photos, and fascinating literature from Olds,
such as the Wholesale Car Order (build sheet) plus advertising and
sales material with all the exciting details about this rare Rallye
350. This restoration was done with such love and care that the
spark plugs are the correct NOS AC plugs and the wires are the
