Vehicle Description
It would no doubt be a tall order, but if ever you were to put
together an automotive time capsule, this 1986 Chevrolet C10
Silverado would be a very fitting representative of its mid-'80s
era. It's unusually lightly travelled, having logged just a touch
over 37,000 miles during its considerable lifespan, and shows all
the beneficial effects of having received plenty of shelter and
attentive care during that time.
We rarely see a vehicle, let alone a task-oriented pickup, live
through more than three decades of real-world use and emerge
anywhere near as sharp as this Chevy. Its black exterior looks
great - close to show quality, in fact - and a comprehensive
detailing will likely get it over the goal line, should that be
your aim. Still in entirely factory configuration, its chrome trim
and brightwork are also very clean and the often overlooked smaller
details have been taken care of - the rubber on those vertical push
bars up front sports a deep black color, the distinctive quartet of
headlights recessed into the front grille are crystal clear and the
badging from front to back is in top form. Swing around to the side
and you'll notice just how expansive the bed area is - this is a
long bed in a very literal sense and, should you opt to put this
classic back to work there'll be plenty of cargo space at your
disposal.
That same sterling condition is on display inside the doors, where
an ultra-clean interior awaits. At its center is a bench seat
that's sporting a nicely fitted cloth cover over its well-padded
form that shows virtually no wear at all and looms over matching
gray carpeting that appears to have been very recently installed. A
factory-issue steering wheel sits on its tilting column and the
chrome accented instrument panel right in front of it features a
collection of clear, functional gauges. The entire dash area is in
equally clean condition - only the original AM/FM radio will
require attention to get back online. During this C10's restoration
process, its factory air conditioning system was also upgraded to
modern 134A refrigerant and it's blowing cold and strong to keep
you and your passengers nice and comfortable. That spacious bed
area in back is well protected by spray-in liner that's performed
its duties without even carrying any observable blemishes to show
for it.
Raise the hood and you'll likely be impressed with the impeccably
detailed condition of the engine bay. The very same 305 cubic inch
V8 this workhorse began life with still sits at its center,
surrounded by an array of components that appear as if they've just
emerged from a steam cleaning session. Every hose inside the
compartment looks fresh, every line and wire neatly routed, while
an upgraded HEI ignition system has been added to maximize
available spark to the engine, which still carries its original
carburetor under its jet black air cleaner and pairs with a 4-speed
automatic 700r4 transmission equipped with an overdrive gear to
bring down RPMs at highway speeds. A glance below reveals that the
years have also been kind to the undercarriage - while you'll find
the patina that comes with its age, from this vantage point
everything appears very straight and solid. This unusually
fresh-looking classic truck cruises on a set of 15" OEM Rally
wheels wearing Summit Cascade tires and is equipped with power
brakes that position discs up front for fade resistant stopping
ability.
A survivor in the most complimentary sense of the term, this 1986
Chevrolet C10 Silverado is in outstanding overall condition and is
well positioned for plenty more duty. Call today.
