Vehicle Description
This 1969 Mercury Cougar XR7 is a very rare 2 door coupe.
Approximately 2% of the '69 Cougar XR7's have the optional 2 tone
Dark Ivy green/Light green color combination. This car was
repainted approximately 3+ yrs. ago. It has an optional white
padded vinyl top. The interior is dark green leather, bucket seats,
headliner is in great shape, seat belts are in place, floor shift
console, gauge package in the dash which includes tach and analog
gauges that all work well. The AM/FM radio works but the clock does
not. The manual crank windows go up and down easily. The windshield
does have one small chip on passenger side. To my knowledge, the
mileage was represented to me as original. I was told there has
been 3 previous owners ( 2 of whom are deceased and the estate
handled the transfers to the person whom I bought it from). This
car has been owned several years and has been shown and judged at
several (Cougar) car show events with excellent ratings. The chrome
and stainless is in excellent condition, the hidden headlight/grill
mechanism works very well. Currently, the Cougar has 14 inch ET
Mags with 19 5X 75R radial tires that are almost brand new. The A/C
blows cold ( over $2100 was spent recently completely
rebuilding/replacing A/C components. The factory power steering
works well, power disc brake system has new booster, master
cylinder, hoses, and other related brake assembly items also
replaced. The original factory 351 W motor has had a complete major
tune-up done. The original factory 3 speed automatic transmission
performs very well, with a good solid shifting pattern, passing
gear functions well, cruise control option is in place ( works on
occasion) . The current dual exhaust system will soon be totally
replaced. This car has always been stored inside and does not show
any visible signs of rust or rust bubbles occurring since the
recent repaint job. Trim Tag info: Body 65B, Color C, Trim 6G, Date
04F, DSO 22, Axle 6, Trans.mission X. This is a "VERY STRONG"
driver/show car and with minimal attention to small details, it
will present very well at major "Cougar" events. You will be
getting lots of "Hoots" and "Thumbs Ups" !!! Call Wayne for further
information. (402) 830-3736.
