This is one of the best looking chopped Mercs I have seen. The chop
and custom features are cool, the colors are hot! The red interior
against the black paint is stunning. Very comfortable cruising car,
has air and power accessories. Included are 2 binders with photos
of the restoration, receipts and a calendar that features this car.
Only 5,350 miles since built.
EXTERIOR: The body was off the frame, flipped on it's side and
stripped to a bare metal shell. Top was chopped 4 inches and rear
window was tipped forward. Extensive body mods include- all trim,
locks, handles were removed and filled, gas door was filled.
Headlights, taillights and antenna were frenced. Hood corners were
rounded, Lake pipes were molded into the fenders, custom skirts
were installed. The doors and trunk are remote. Has dummy
spotlights, DeSoto grill and 1955 Pontiac side trim. Custom design
was molded into the hood. The mirrors have turn signals built in.
Then it was given a slick black paint job and some hand
pinstriping. The chrome it has is bright. Glass is tinted. Has big
fat radial white wall tires and the hub caps are so cool, look like
they are right out of Grease Lightening.
INTERIOR: Man that red pops. It's a Cadillac interior, both seats
have 6 way power. The dash is all custom with a full set of new
gauges, a tachometer is mounted on the column. It is a tilt column
with a custom wheel. The shift is on the floor with a cool devil's
head knob. Side panels are upholstered to match the seats. Has new
carpet and matching floor mats.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: A 350 Chevy motor decorated in chrome sits
under the hood of this one. The aluminum intake and water neck were
chromed, Edelbrock carb with electric choke was chromed, valve
covers, air cleaner are chrome. Has HEI ignition. The brake booster
and master are chromed. The air conditioning system has chrome
parts. Alternator is chrome. Battery cover, exhaust shields, fan
are chrome too. The bay is painted gloss black and has a Betty Boop
mural painted up front.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has been boxed and carpeted red. The spare
and gas filler is recessed into the floor. Has a trunk light.
UNDERSIDE: We have pictures of the underbody striped to bare metal
on its side. The frame is smooth metal. Both were completely
painted a semi gloss black before assembly. A Camaro subframe was
attached in front. Uses all new Camaro front suspension and disc
brakes. In back it has lowering blocks, air shocks and a chevy 10
bolt rear end. Bottom of the motor has chrome oil pan and flywheel
cover. There's a high torque starter. Has chrome pan on the turbo
350 automatic trans. New dual exhaust with glass pack mufflers.
It's really clean under this car.
I could easily see it costing well over $100,000 to have a shop
build a car like this. A customer was just in my office, he said
just the paint materials for his Road Runner was $6,200. All the
custom body work on this car and the paint job would cost $30,000
or more. This is a turn key car ready to turn heads!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
