This is a very unique 1970 Mustang. Unique in its rare combination
of features as well as its original color combination, and unique
in being a one owner car that still has its original, numbers
matching 351 Cleveland engine. There is a display board for this
car that details out the features and numbers more thoroughly, so

The clean lines and aggressive stance of this fastback looks great
in this coat of bright blue paint. It is a first-class respray that
was done as part of a restoration about 10 years ago. Scoops and
stripes and things that shout loudly are nice on some cars, but
this car shines brightest by letting that paint highlight the crisp
top edge of the front fenders and the muscular flares of the rears.
There is a bit of chassis rake giving the car an aggressive look
and the fastback roofline flows smoothly into an integrated rear
spoiler. The view from the back is of those iconic three chamber
taillights with a galloping pony gas cap between them. Mustang is
lettered across the trunk lid and a simple chrome bumper underlines
everything. Up front, a return to single headlights for 1970
created a cleaner look with a wider grill that is black, trimmed in
chrome, with another galloping pony over red, white and blue in the
center and a pencil thin bumper completing the look.
Open the door and you will find a White interior that is a stunning
compliment to the Grabber Blue. The hi-back bucket seats have been
reupholstered and look amazing with pleated seating surfaces,
smooth side bolsters and patterned tops buttoned in place. The
stock two spoke steering wheel is trimmed in wood grain with a pony
in the center. The twin cove dash pad has wood grain inserts with
neat and clean factory gauges tucked back into their pods. There is
a 120 MPH speedometer and a tachometer directly in front of the
driver with water temp and fuel gauges off to the sides. An AM
radio sits just over a couple nice little upgrades with the
controls for Vintage Air A/C to keep you cool on those hot summer
days and a Hurst shifter for the 4-speed manual transmission rising
from the floor just waiting to be stirred around. The headliner is
tight and looks great in white while the carpets are black and tie
the look of everything together nicely.
Open the hood and you will find that precious, numbers matching 351
Cleveland motor nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. A
chrome air filter assembly feeds a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and
chrome valve covers add their splash of flash. There is a brand-new
A/C compressor that is all polished up and ready to keep you cool
while an aluminum radiator keeps the engine running cool. Fresh
ignition components include an MSD coil and neatly routed spark
plug wires while long tube headers wind their way out the bottom of
the engine bay. Power flows back through that 4-speed manual
transmission to a traction lock rear end with 3.25 gears mounted on
leaf springs with snubbers to help prevent wheel hop. Up front the
power steering works through control arms with coil springs and
sway bars both front and rear provide good handling. The rubber
meets the road through 245/60R14 BFGoodrich Radial T/A all-around
mounted on black Supreme 5-spoke wheels with polished rims.
