Vehicle Description
The "Silver Anniversary" model Corvette sported a special silver
paint package. This added $399 to the sticker price but Only 15283
of these were ever produced.The L48 350 engine was standard on
these limited edition models. The "Silver Anniversary" edition of
the Corvette also had re-designed interiors and new fast-back type
rear windows.1978 Corvette PerformanceCorvette performance was
improved with a a new low-restriction exhaust system and mufflers.
The transverse rear leaf spring in the independent rear suspension
was widened to reduce stress. Two new transmissions were introduced
in the 1978 Corvette. A new Four-Speed manual transmission was
standard. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Corvette the
Silver Anniversary emblems are mounted on the nose and rear
deck.Corvette continued to offer a long list of standard equipment.
