Vehicle Description
1977 Chevrolet Corvette
Mention the name Corvette and immediately someone in the
conversation will perk up and pay attention. It's a timeless
American sports car and has gone through several personality
changes. From the 2-seat coupe when first introduced, to a fast
50's classic, to the Stingray Versions of the 1960's and early
1970's. By the 24th year, engineers were all but finished muddling
through the power struggle with emissions.
This Corvette presents in fair condition but it's all there for
someone to take it, tweak it, and have a really nice version. Or
use it as a daily driver and to attract attention. This molded
front and rear design with vertical rear window, is arguably the
nicest design since the Sting Ray
Exterior
Mahogany fiberglass appears in good condition. Small areas of
cracking and crazing are present, particularly in the nose area,
but overall sparse. A removable "T" top matching body color on
exterior, and interior color on ceiling, comes with the car.
Original Corvette for 1977 wheels are all around, as new tires, but
purchased to original 1977 specs. Aerodynamic door actuators are
chromed and flush with the door. Wide white racing stripes add a
nice contrast to the exterior and run from stem to stern.
Interior
Light beige leather buckets stretch from door to door and are
interrupted by a shifter and power window actuator console. This
console curves skyward and houses the a/c heat, and fan controls.
As we move upward an AM/FM radio is imbedded, as well as a cluster
of gas, temp, clock, amps, and oil pressure analog gauges. A
speedometer, and tachometer are fronted by a stock steering wheel,
showing 3 spokes and wrapped in Light Beige leather. Beige
carpeting shows some staining but is in overall fair condition.
Power locks, power windows, hidden headlights, air conditioning,
power steering, as well as power brakes are present. A decent sized
compartment, carpeted, is seen behind the buckets.
Drivetrain
The original 350ci 4-barrel engine is noted in a good condition
engine bay. Matching numbers can be verified with photos with
engine number and vin number. Engine is specified L48 and puts out
350hp. A 3-speed automatic transmission (numbers matching) puts
power down to the wheels. A solid car showing at 62,706 unconfirmed
miles.
Undercarriage
Clean, areas of minor surface rust, otherwise unremarkable.
A 1977 Corvette presenting in fair condition. All original except
for a repaint to match original Chevrolet Mahogany. A good
detailing on this car would go a long way, but it's a driver, so
ready to go down the road in style, 1977 style baby!
