Selling my fully restored 1972 GMC 1500 Super Custom with original part numbers matching the engine and transmission. As shown in the pictures, this truck is a complete body off frame restoration and is an absolutely beautiful pickup. Before the restoration process began, this truck was in fantastic condition for a '72 model with 112,000 original miles on it. There was very little rust to be found anywhere on the truck and the motor still turned over with a new battery and fuel pump.
Provided below is a detailed list of components that were replaced and/or restored on this pickup during the extensive restoration process:
This truck is in excellent condition inside and out and is a blast to drive. Located on the right side below the steering wheel mounted under the dash is a switch controlling the solenoid actuated exhaust cutoff. One of the many thrills of driving this truck is quietly pulling up to a red light and flipping this switch allowing the engine exhaust to exit out the side of the truck and avoid all the sound attenuation that the muffler provides. One can hardly tell a difference when the truck is at idle. However, as the light turns green and the pedal is pressed to the floor, the truck produces a roar unlike any other vehicle on the road and screams pure American horsepower as the tires try to maintain traction with the road. This truck does not have any flashy aesthetics that make it stick out from the rest of the cars on the road like a sore thumb. Rather, it was appropriately restored to capture the true essence of utilitarian style that GMC introduced with its pickup trucks in the early 70s. The mechanical integrity of this pickup is what really makes it a valuable truck to own! Please feel free to reach out with any questions or offers!
