The E24 M6 was the top of the line of the "M Series" in 1987 for
BMW, they were trying to make this a modern day 507 coupe. BMW was
really going after the "Touring Coupe" market segment. The M6 had a
"hand-assembled" 3.5 liter dohc 256hp engine and hand-tuned
suspension on the Nurburgring wrapped around BBS light alloy
wheels. The seats are 12-way power seats that hug you as you pushed
the limits. The rear seating area was to make you feel as though
you were in a 4-door sedan with large seating capacities, separate
climate controls and a cooled storage compartment. They made just
under ~1,800 M6's worldwide in 1987.
The E24 M6 has been climbing up the modern day "Youngtimer"
collector car market and are great for shows such as "Radwood" and
modern Concours events like the Greenwhich Concours.
This particular car was fastidiously maintained and was purchased
from the original owner. It is in original condition and was
recently treated to a complete overhaul of the fuel system and was
professionally detailed here by GT Motor Cars. This is a truly
special example as it has a great story of being a one-owner car
and having the original paperwork to accompany it from the Window
Sticker, Sales copy, Car Cover, License Plate Frame and Original
Tool kit. The chassis on the car still maintains all of its
original inspection markings and is in preserved original
condition.
Very rarely does an opportunity like this M6 come to market. This
is a truly special car that is a true "Investment Grade" asset.
