Vehicle Description
This SUV is a bit of a hybrid. No, not like a Prius. This truck has
got the stout heart of an '88 K5 with a '77 front clip adding a
nice look to the front end and a few sweet late model upgrades to
the interior courtesy of a late model Tahoe. You will look good and
be comfortable on your way to places and adventures that few other
vehicles would be able to get you to. Check it out.
Whether you are plowing through downtown traffic on your way to
work or plowing through deep creeks on your way to a hunting camp,
you will be looking good on your way there. The Blue and Gray
two-tone paint has just recently been applied and plenty of prep
was done before a drop of it was sprayed on. The panels and the
hardtop all line up nicely and it's got a nice shine to it. There
is plenty of chrome on that '77 front end with the black grill
surrounded by it and a fresh bumper underlining it. There is a
bowtie ornament and gray accent stripes running back along each
side of the hood. From the side you can't help but notice the lift
and the serious wheels and tires this truck rides on. Taking the
top off is fun for open air motoring or hauling big piles of people
down the lake or bonfire and there is a trailer hitch for pulling
any kind of toys you have down there with you.
Open the door, climb up inside, and you will find a nicely updated
interior that is comfortable and hi-tech. The door panel is neat
and clean and classic K5 with power window and lock switches at
your fingertips. The leather seats, however, were swiped from a
late model Tahoe. They are power operated, they look good, and they
are super comfortable. A two-spoke steering wheel is mounted on a
tilt column with cruise control and the shifter for the automatic
transmission. The dash behind it is super clean in brushed metal
with the chrome trimmed stock gauges clearly visible. The
ventilation controls in the center include those for air
conditioning to keep you cool on those hot summer days. To the
right of those is a tech upgrade bound to please. The new head unit
for the FM/CD/Bluetooth and iPod compatible stereo also includes
Nav. Your back-seat passengers will also enjoy a comfortable ride,
because why would you just borrow the front seats from the
Tahoe?
Open the hood and you will find a 350 cubic inch, throttle body
injected motor nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. These
engines are tried and true, reliable and powerful. It is completely
stock with signs of good regular maintenance that includes fresh
belts and hoses as well as ignition components and a newer battery.
Exhaust flows out through Dual Flowmaster mufflers and gives this
truck a nice sound while power flows back through a 4-speed
automatic transmission and then the 4WD transfer case to solid
axles both front and rear. Leaf springs provide some lift to the
suspension and heavy-duty shocks all around provide good control
with dual shocks on each side sharing the work load on the front.
Power front disc brakes provide good stopping power and the rubber
meets the road, (or the snow or mud), through Nitto 355/60/20s all
around mounted on those great looking chrome Moto rims.
Get where you're going in style. Whether that's across town or
across the mountain. Come on down and check out this very well-done
truck with its blend of updates and backdates that all add up to
one sweet ride.
