Real X-55 Super Sport with factory colors. The colors are pretty
awesome I might add. Not to mention it's a 4-speed, 69 Camaro
convertible with air conditioning!
EXTERIOR: It certainly stands out, in a good way! The rally green
is very popular especially when accented in white. The exterior is
slick. I'm walking around the car trying to find something wrong
with it. In happy to report it looks great. It is a solid North
Carolina car. The body panels fit fabulously. Gaps are right, both
doors open and close real nice. Each side is straight. I felt all
along both bottoms and there are no bubbles. 1/4 panels have had
full replacements, not cheaters. Bottom of doors are clean, bottom
of fenders sound like metal when you tap on them. The paint has a
very glossy clear coat finish with a clear reflection. The hockey
stick stripe is painted on with the correct dimensions. Trim is all
beautiful. Up front the bumper, bumper guards, grill, emblems and
spoiler look new. SS grills on the hood look new, mirrors, emblems,
handles look new. Stainless trim is good. In back it has original
antenna, spoiler, the taillights, bumpers, bumper guards are
excellent. The fuzzy window seals have been replaced. Weatherstrips
around doors and top are new. 14 inch Rally wheels have all new
trim and BFG tires.
INTERIOR: The white looks great against the green. It is restored
to great shape. The door panels, upholstery, carpet and dash pad
has been replaced. Console is in excellent shape, has the chrome
ball Hurst shifter and an upgraded set of gauges. Other upgrades
include Vintage Air controls with electric switches, not cables.
Also a retro stereo was put in the factory hole. Instrument panel
is all very good. Other features are deluxe wheel and power top.
Has white boot to cover the top when down. Very functional, lights
gauges, wipers etc all work.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Very clean and proper motor compartment. At the
heart of it all is a reliable, strong running 350 motor. Upgraded
with aluminum heads, aluminum intake, dual feed Holley carb with
electric choke, HEI ignition system, chrome fuel pump and a set of
headers. It's dressed up with a nice set of polished finned valve
covers and chrome pulleys, water pump, bracket and air cleaner. New
Vintage Air system. The metal is all clean with a nice satin black.
The radiator shroud, hoses are all excellent. Components are clean
and proper. The tag on the firewall does designate 79 A paint code
which is the rally green with a white top, 727 trim which is white
interior and the X55 is an SS350!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Bottom of the trunk lid and jamb are painted
just as slick as the outside of the car. New weatherstrip, has a
trunk mat. Trunk floors are rock solid.
UNDERSIDE: Very respectable and solid. Front end parts look good.
Bottom of motor is clean, has finned oil pan. The 4 speed is clean.
Has original 3.31 12 bolt rear. A set of headers hook up to a
Flowmaster system. Has disc brakes in front, e-brake cables are
attached.
This SS has a very desirable package of colors and features. It is
exciting, it has quality and will have great resale. It functions
as good as it looks!
