For Sale: 1972 Dodge Charger in Seekonk, Massachusetts

Vehicle Description

This gorgeous 1972 Dodge Charger Rallye 400 Custom is a stunning car in every regard.  These cars are seldom seen in the condition of this one.  As the VIN number indicates this car was born a 1972 Dodge Charger 2-door hardtop in the high price class that was equipped with a 318 2bbl 8cyl “LA engine” and built at the Lynch Road, MI.  It has undergone a five year extensive rotisserie restoration by true Mopar enthusiasts.  This is a high show quality car from top to bottom.  It has been driven 500 miles since the restoration was completed.  Prior to the restoration it was Southern, TN rust free car.  During the restoration the car was stripped to bare metal.  The car retains all the original sheet metal with no patch work.  It has excellent body seams and no swelling at the pinch welds.  The body is extremely straight with great gaps throughout.  The hood, doors and deck lid open and close very nicely.  The car sports its original exterior color of Hemi Orange (code EV2) and a white vinyl roof.  It has a new Legendary vinyl top.  The paint on this car was done to a very high level.  The orange paint is complemented with black accents.  Some of the black accents include the hood, front fenders, side stripes and rear go wing.  The black area on the hood was painted on and the side stripes are a decal.  The mirrors and bumpers are painted body color.  The original steel bumper bolts and jack slots were hidden for a smooth look.  The front grille is black with silver trim.  The rear tail light panel is silver and houses the Rallye tail lights.  The hood is equipped with hood pins.  It has a new Mopar front windshield and all of the remaining glass is original and in beautiful condition.   It also has beautiful trim work including the window trim, door trim, door handles and antenna.  It has new NOS chrome emblems throughout.  The car has a great stance on new Cragar Eliminator chrome wheels that are 15x7 on the front and 15x8 on the rear.  The wheels are wrapped with Cooper Cobra Radial TA tires that are 225-70-15 on the front and 275-60-15 on the rear.  The car sports the original interior color of White/Burnt Orange (code W1).  The orange coloring is on the dash, steering wheel, console, door panels and carpeting.  The white coloring is on the door panels and the seats.  It has a new Legendary interior that includes new headliner, sun visors, seat covers and carpet.  The original side panels and interior trim was completely restored.  The original console, seat foam, seat belts and seat tracks were also restored.  It has a new NOS gauges, new NOS shifter and a Sunpro tachometer.  It’s equipped with factory air conditioning which was completely restored with all new parts and converted to R32.  Some of the new parts include the compressor, condenser, accumulator, expansion valve and lines.  The heat and AC works great.   It’s equipped with custom Kenwood stereo system including a stereo unit with CD player in the glove box along with two speakers in the dash and two in the rear deck.  The original AM radio lights up for looks only.  Everything in the interior works including the 3-spd wiper motor,  headlights, fender turn signals, ash tray light, glove box light, dash map light, horn, etc.  The glove box door was autographed by Richard Petty in person.  The trunk compartment is in the same beautiful condition as the interior.  The spare has an orange rim with a matching Cooper Cobra Radial TA tire.  The bumper jack was also restored and it’s dressed with a new trunk mat.  The painted engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many factory correct markings.   Every single nut and bolt was restored or replaced.  Underneath the hood is even highly detailed.  This car is powered by a 1972 400 Magnum V8 that starts and runs excellent.  The engine was professionally rebuilt including Keith Black pistons, Super Bee cam, 402 oil pan, Edelbrock aluminum intake, Edelbrock carburetor w/ choke, NOS Moroso chrome valve covers and chrome air cleaner.  It has a new oil pump, aluminum water pump, orange box, alternator, rebuilt starter, NOS Mopar electronic distributor and Moroso Blue Max wires.  The engine is cooled by a new 4-core copper/brass radiator with Mopar clutch fan and shroud.  The engine breathes through Hi-Po manifolds and a Magnaflow 2 ½ exhaust system with machine gun tips.  The engine is coupled to a 1972 727 Torque flight automatic transmission that works great.  It was completely rebuilt and it was a new torque converter, lines and deep pan.  It also has new U joints with refinished driveshaft.  It has a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner rear end with a 489 case and 3.23 gears that was gone through including new bearing seals.  The car is equipped with power steering that works great.  It has a new power steering pump, gear box and lines.  The undercarriage is also highly detailed and was lightly undercoated for durability.  The front suspension has all new ball joints, tie rods, bushings, control arms, big block torsion bars, front sway bar and gas shocks.  The rear suspension has new Mopar springs, shackles, bushings, sway bar and shocks.  The braking system consists of power front disc brakes with 11” rear finned drums.  The entire braking system was redone including the booster, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, calipers, shoes, lines and emergency brake cable.  Once again, this 1972 Dodge Charger 400 Custom is a stunning car in every regard.  This car was recently serviced and detailed which is documented with an invoice that is
