Vehicle Description
It is with great regret that I am posting this car for sale. It is
a project that I cannot currently undertake. I have owned this car
for 7 years. I had of course hoped to completely rebuild it but
priorities and resources have changed. NOT RUNNING! (Needs motor
work, was running like shit when I parked it, now needs a new
battery too.) 350 small block th350 automatic transmission - works
fine was inspected and resealed a few years back and has about 2000
miles on it since. All photos are this actual car. While the photos
look great the car is in average condition with a fair amount of
patina. Power windows work, All lights work but the head lights
must be put up and down manually as the vacuum lines are old and
cracked. Its a pretty easy fix that is very common on these older
cars. The Brakes and Suspension were also rebuilt about 1000 miles
ago. Clean title in my name. Come check it out; bring a trailer,
and please bring cash. White/Red colors: For those of you that are
new to the world of corvettes, the color of every car produced
during the first year of production, 1953, was white with a red
interior. I can just imagine the sales person trying to convince
every person that looked at one, they could have any color they
liked as long as it was white (with red interior). Well in doing
so, Chevrolet actually made that color scheme the most iconic for
its American sports car and even for every other sports car in the
world. I for one, am in love with it. What makes the '79 corvette
so unique? Well, 1979 is the last year you could get the classic
Stingray body without front and rear spoilers. In 1980 the formerly
optional bolt-on spoilers became integrated into the body on all
cars. In addition, the modern high-back sport seats, that were
previously debuted (and only available) on the 1978 Indy 500 Pace
Car special edition (in silver leather no less) became standard on
all cars in '79. The pace car also came with spoilers front and
rear. That makes the 1979 model year a "one year only"option for a
c3 corvette with the more classic pre-spoiler body combined with
the more modern interior featuring high-back sport seats. Well for
me this is the sweet spot so to speak as I never really like the
spoilers on a C3 that much. Speaking from a stylistic point of
view, in my humble opinion the C3 "Stingray" body style is already
so dynamic and truly amazing that adding spoilers, scoops, flairs,
or any modification at all just seams over the top. Here is aerial
footage of this car driving from several years ago.
