luxury and universal appeal. It has been owned, garage kept and
routinely maintained by a prominent 83 years young lady in Newport
Beach California for almost all of it's years. Fast, competent,
luxurious, stylish, and built to last, they are the choice of
classic car collectors who like to both show their cars and drive
them on a weekend getaways. This two-seater roadster/coupe was
produced from 1963 through 1971. The 280SL had a distinctive
slightly concave hardtop, hence the name "Pagoda". This roadster
has its original soft-top and the original removable "Pagoda"
hardtop and original removal tool. It is equipped with an inline
2.8L six-cylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection. The
odometer shows 32016 miles. This rock solid 280 SL is about as
close to driving a brand new 48-year-old luxury car as you can get.
This two top 280 SL is an incredible find! This stunning 1970
Mercedes-Benz 280SL Pagoda featured here with 2 tops is available
in its original color, Signal (Fire Engine) Red, with Cognac
Leather interior, and original matching cognac color soft top. It
comes equipped with an automatic transmission, power steering, air
conditioning, Becker stereo radio, solid steel chromed wheels, with
newer tires (original hubcaps are included in the trunk). The
engine bay shows nice, but also shows you that it's a nice driver
quality car and not a trailer queen in the six-figure range. It
comes with spare tire, tire cover, jack, owners manual and
extensive service records with existing odometer miles confirmed by
the service records as well. Powerful brakes, radial tires and wide
chassis gives this 280SL great handling. The front grille has the
dominant three-point star centered between Bosch "fishbowl"
headlights. This model has a rigid passenger compartment and
designated crumple zones with impact absorbing front and rear
sections. This was the first sports car with a safety body and
interior corner. All panels including doors, trunk and hood lineup
and fit well. The dash is nicely preserved and the instruments are
clear. The original seats are very nice with no tears or stains.
The undercarriage is original and shows very slight wear. The disc
brakes are responsive ensuring the car will stop straight. This
rare find is finished in great colors and should give great driving
pleasure to its new owner in a car that is a rare find and coveted
by any Mercedes Benz owner. ***If you are viewing this on Facebook
