Vehicle Description
This is a true sportscar roadster- a 2 seater convertible without
roll up windows, you get "side curtains" This British sports car
gives an altogether different feeling then the Camaros and
Cadillacs that we are used to. It is a lot of fun, it's sporty!
It's obviously smaller and lower, shifting through the gears and
revving that motor to make that distinct sound and the wind blowing
on your skin all makes you feel like a chap!
EXTERIOR: We polished that British racing green to a very glossy,
smooth finish. Is it flawless? No, but the car shows really well.
I'm standing next to it and it's slick. There's a couple minor
nicks or scratches. All the chrome is new- up front the entire
grill, bumper, bumper guards, headlight bezels are new. The chrome
vents and emblems by the hood are new. In back the bumper, license
plate light, light bezels and emblems on the trunk are new. The
welting between the fenders are new. No door handles on the
outside, because there's no windows! You just open it from the
inside. It has a black convertible top in great shape. The side
windows easily mount to the doors, they have sliding hard plastic
instead of soft plastic. The easiest way to cover the interior is
using the Hartz cloth tonneau cover. It also zips down the middle
to just expose the driver side. The optional "knock off" wire
wheels really dress it up.
INTERIOR: Genuine leather on the seats, top of doors and armrest.
The leather have the right amount of patina, like that perfectly
broken in leather jacket. The dash is in great shape and has the
full selection of instruments including a tachometer. It has the
classic Moto Lita hand made aluminum spoke steering wheel with the
wood grip. New wood shifter knob too. It has been recarpeted and
has MG floor mats. Somebody did add a stereo, speakers and
seatbelts.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine looks fresh. Claimed to have been
rebuilt and it looks and runs like it was. The 1588 cc 4 cylinder
with dual carbs winds out 80 hp. That's enough to take it to it's
top speed of 100 mph. The carbs look fresh. The wiring and hoses
look recently replaced. Its dressed up with aluminum valve cover.
Everything looks proper under the hood.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Clean metal painted green. It has a matching
wire wheel for a spare.
UNDERSIDE: It is not detailed underneath but it is really good.
Looks to be rust free, all the components are proper. The frame and
chassis is clean metal. I bet there isn't bolt that couldn't be
removed with a wrench. It looks like it was apart and rebuilt, just
not detailed. There brakes were just redone, they are disc in
front. The bottom of the motor is clean. The 4-speed trans is
clean. The floors are plywood, in excellent condition.
Fun car, ready for some winding roads out in the countryside!
