Rolls-Royce announced the new Silver Shadow II as 'the refinement
of a masterpiece', a statement that remains true today. Launched in
1977, among the 2,000 changes to the model were rack-and-pinion
power-assisted steering, split-level air conditioning, improved
engine cooling and revised instrumentation. The style and luxury
enticed famous buyers, including Andy Warhol, Michael Jackson and
Frank Sinatra.
This example was among the last before the Silver Spirit launched
in 1980. Ordered by Mariner's Leasing Corporation, it was destined
for Orange County, California, to the leaser, a Mr M. Douglas. Mr
Douglas had followed Rolls-Royce's advice for dual paint schemes,
opting for Willow Gold over Olive with matching olive leather
interior and dashboard top roll complemented by Wilton carpets in
Honey Gold.
A copy of the previous California title remains on file, showing
that the car was with Christine Lapidus of Los Angeles by at least
1999 and remained with her until 2017 when purchased by the
consignor and exported to Switzerland. Boasting a fascinating
colour scheme and presented in wonderful condition throughout, this
is truly a Rolls-Royce for the sophisticate.

Rolls-Royce hatte den neuen Silver Shadow II als �Verdelung eines
Meisterwerks" angek�ndigt, ein Statement, das auch heute noch
stimmt. In das 1977 vorgestellte neue Modell flossen 2000
�nderungen ein, darunter eine Servozahnstangenlenkung,
Zwei-Zonen-Klimaanlage, verbesserte K�hlung und ge�nderte
Instrumentierung. Stil und Luxus sprachen ber�hmte Kunden an,
darunter Andy Warhol, Michael Jackson und Frank Sinatra.
Dieses Exemplar ist eines der letzten vor der Einf�hrung des
Nachfolgemodells Silver Spirit 1980. Erstbesitzer war ein Mr.
Douglas bei der Mariner's Leasing Corporation in Orange County,
Kalifornien. Mr. Douglas entschied sich auf Anraten von Rolls-Royce
f�r eine Zweitonlackierung in willow gold und olive mit Sitzen und
Armaturenbrettoberseite in olivem Leder. Dazu passend sind die
Wilton Teppiche in honey gold ausgef�hrt.
Zu den Unterlagen geh�rt auch eine Kopie des originalen Title aus
Kalifornien, aus der sich ersehen l�sst, dass das Fahrzeug von 1999
bis 2017 einer Christine Lapidus in Los Angeles geh�rt hat, bevor
es der heutige Besitzer in die Schweiz importiert hat. Die
faszinierende Farbkombination und der wunderbare Zustand machen
