We just recently fixed a transmission leak and can provide the receipt. There is a small spot of rust on the roof of car which is from a garage roof leak long ago, and you can't see it unless you look for it. Also there is a small dent on 1 fender, 2 door dings, and some small scratches. Otherwise, it's in Excellent shape!  Just rebuilt the Carburetor, fixed a transmission leak, and the mechanic was able to find and put in a new gas gauge.

White sidewall tires. Slow up steep hills, but otherwise Drives Well!

The Story;

This was my father's car.  My father bought the car New. He drove it to work and back for awhile, and advertised a book he'd written on the back bumper. Then when Ralph Nader came out with his critique of Corvair, my father bought a different car, and stuck this one in the garage.  My mother left everything exactly as it was in the garage after he died. The garage was not her domain. And that is how it happened that when there was a garage leak, no one noticed there was dripping on the roof of the car, until another leak developed elsewhere in the garage. And then she got the garage roof replaced. However, the car stayed there until my mother died, which was when I inherited it. And then it went directly to the mechanic to check it out. The mechanic replaced the carburetor with a more modern one, which he recommended. I drove it a bit, but the car drove too slowly up the steep hill to the top where our house was! So the car was stored in the garage at the house I shared with my husband. He still lives there along with the Corvair in the garage! And he'd really like his garage back. So it is time to sell the Corvair!! I now live in a different State, and have no efficient way to transport it here. The VIN# confirms that it was built at Willow Run, and is a Corvair 500 Turbo.

$6900.00 obo

My name is Theresa.  I will be happy to give you my former husband's name and phone number for viewing the car and to set up a time to drive it. He is happy to show it!

Thank You!
